This cordless impact driver features a first-of-its-kind full-circle LED light, providing optimal balance, a slim all-around head, and comfortable operation. As of December 2022, Makita research shows that visibility during work is significantly improved, with 2.5 times more brightness compared to conventional 18V Makita devices. The LED light offers three levels of adjustable brightness (high, medium, low) and can also be used as a work light. In "light mode," it serves as a simple lighting solution with an illumination time of approximately one hour.

The battery is offset to the rear, optimizing the center of gravity and allowing for balanced tightening in all directions while minimizing interference with obstacles. The rear-positioned operation panel is easy to see and use, allowing mode changes and battery level checks without releasing the grip.
With the industry's smallest bit wobble, the impact driver uses double ball bearings and a new bit sleeve with ribs on the edges to reduce damage to materials. According to Makita research in December 2022, the driver offers an excellent corner striking performance and reduced cam-out with a tilt angle of approximately 10.5°. It is also suitable for working close to walls. Choose the optimal mode for your task and use the mode memory function to register your most-used mode by pressing two buttons simultaneously. Switch between the previously used mode and the registered mode with a fingertip button.
